I have purchased my ticket and all of the gear I'm going to be using for the duration of this trek. With the support of my wife, friends, and the local community the donations for the fundraiser have already begun to come in. I would like to thank all of you for taking the time to help spread the word and for your continued support of the 2014 Appalachian Trail Fundraiser for the Semper Fi Fund. I am prepared, ready, and a bit anxious for the 8th of April to arrive so that the hike may get underway. I look forward to chronicling the journey through the pictures and videos i post along the way and to sharing the experience with you through the website and Facebook.
A special thank you to my old friend, Stephen Norman, for his dedication in helping to promote the event even though we are on opposite sides of the country.
Thank you to William "Spanky" Gibson for connecting me with the Semper Fi Fund.
I would also like to express my gratitude to Madeline from SFF for her help in getting the fundraiser organized.
A huge shout out goes to my employer, Dotty's Casino in Helena, Montana, for their support and affording me the opportunity to return to my position when I've completed the trail.
To my step-daughter Bridget: Don't worry. I will be fine and I look forward to seeing you and the lil' guy once I get to your neck of the woods.
To my wife: Even though we're going to be apart I believe that this endeavor will bring us closer together and make our bond that much stronger.
Thank you very much to all who've donated to the Appalachian Trail Fundraiser and the Semper Fi Fund.
The most important thank you of all is to the current and former members of our Armed Services. Thank you for the selfless sacrifices you endure as you display your Honor, your Courage, and your Commitment to the preservation of our freedom.
